You know we love sharing before and after remodel stories here on the blog, but this Moline, IL kitchen is way more than another before and after story. What a stunning take on the updated two tone kitchen trend with dark base cabinets and light uppers. But folks, we almost didnt have the chance to bid this project! We say over and over that we we can beat box store pricing if we are just given the opportunity and this project is proof of that. This customer was ready to purchase cabinetry from a box store and thankfully a friend suggested she also get a bid from our small business. And we got the chance to sell her this amazing kitchen!
How gorgeous and on trend is this look!? The Savannah doorstyle from our Koch Classic line of cabinetry is installed with a painted gray Fog finish on the base cabinets and White paint on the upper cabinets and floating shelves. The old kitchen was original to the home and needed a wall removed to create a much more functional layout. What an update!
A wall once divided the kitchen from the dining room and now a peninsula with counter-height stools offers added seating. Hanstone quartz in the Speechio White design dazzles and sparkles. Across from the U shape kitchen, the refrigerator is recessed into the wall and a pantry and coffee bar area has been installed. Anyone with a KitchenAid mixer will be envious of the cabinet shown below:
Mixer lift cabinets can be a great storage solution for bakers because they free up countertop space and offer a sturdy location for your stand mixer that tucks easily out of sight when not in use. Notice the cord in the above image. We always recommend you install an outlet on the back end of this cabinet interior so you can always have your mixer plugged in and at the ready without having to bend down.
We also included a pull out spice rack in the kitchen near the range. Pull out cabinets can be ordered in many sizes and even have options for other storage besides spices and cooking oils. Ask a Village Home Stores kitchen designer about pull out knife racks, towel bars, pegboard utensil holders, bin utensil holders, tray dividers, and more! The new kitchen layout in this Moline home includes a peninsula with an extended countertop for casual counter-height seating. A large stack of drawers spans most of the peninsula area with a blind corner cabinet at the turn. This is the second kitchen feature we have shared in this new year to include a blind corner cabinet.
This wire blind corner insert is the ultimate use of space. A factory-installed slide and pivot wire rack system allows you easy access to the usable storage space of this cabinet. Ask a kitchen designer at Village Home Stores about all of your corner cabinet options from Koch Cabinetry. Press play below to see this cabinet open and operate.
Another storage area we love was installed by the customer in the small hallway near the kitchen. A narrow section of wall was converted into a lighted bar area with a small beverage cooler. It is now the perfect location to store and display bar items right within reach of the kitchen, dining room, and nearby sunroom when entertaining.
We can handle your remodel from start to finish but that is not every customers need. This customer arranged for their own demo and installation and Village provided the cabinetry and countertop surfaces. Village can help as little or as much as you want for your own project. We also want to remind you that we carry a wide variety of products that can compliment all project needs and budgets.
