Pepperoni Pull-Apart Bread

Here’s a twist on pizza. It mostly uses the same ingredients, but my kids love pulling off the bits of pizza bread for dinner. It’s so fun! This is a great recipe to make on a lazy Sunday afternoon when time is of no consequence. And shenanigans overtake your kitchen.

Ingredients

  • 2 packages of pre-made bread dough
    • I buy two pizza dough loaves from the deli section of the grocery store
    • Or use 2 loaves of frozen dough, thawed
    • Or make a batch in your bread maker
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella
  • Pepperoni
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • Italian seasonings of your choice

Directions

  • Coat bundt pan with non-stick spray
  • Place layer of pepperoni slices around the bottom of the pan
  • In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, and seasoning. (I used oregano)
  • Form bread dough into 2 inch balls
  • Dip dough balls in to olive oil mixture and place into bundt pan, covering the bottom.

**Note: Dough balls do not have to be tightly packed. Just loosely make a bottom layer–when the dough sits to rise and then bake, it will fill in the empty space

  • Cover bottom layer of dough with mozzarella and pepperoni
  • Continue making layers of dough balls dipped in olive oil, cheese, and pepperoni until dough is gone
  • Cover with a dish towel and let the pan rest and rise in a warm spot for 30-45 minutes

**Note: I use my oven. I keep it turned off. I add a pan of hot water to the bottom rack. Then I place the dough pan on a higher rack for the rise time.

  • Pre-heat over to 375 degrees (Obviously don’t do this if the bread is rising–you need to wait!!)
  • Bake 30-40 minutes
  • Flip bread out of pan onto large plate or tray

Everyone pulls off pieces to enjoy! Serve with marinara sauce for dipping.
